ACK! A Victim of Podfade…
According to my good friend, ChatGPT: “Podfade” refers to the phenomenon where a podcast begins to release episodes less frequently, eventually stopping altogether without any formal conclusion or announcement. It often occurs when podcast creators or hosts lose interest, run out of content, face time constraints, or encounter technical or financial difficulties that prevent them from continuing the show. Podfade can happen at any stage in a podcast’s life, from shortly after its launch to several years into its run. This term highlights one of the challenges in the podcasting industry, where sustaining a show requires consistent effort, engagement, and sometimes resources that may not always be readily available or sustainable for creators.
I never really left Podcasting…
I just wasn’t publishing audio. I have continued to make content in my own ADHD kind of way. Tiktok’s, YouTube Videos, Websites, Other posts… I am always making something. I think my main struggle is that I hop interests and I haven’t figured out the right strategy for that kind of focus jump. All the business podacasts I listen to say to “Niche Down” pick something and stick with that, but that’s not how my brain works, am I doomed to never succeed because I can’t niche?
On to the experiments…
So I think I will make my socials just all follow my randomness. Some people will like it, others hate it, maybe I am my own niche.
So what’s next?
A reboot. Apparently, this show is still getting downloads, so A refresh is in order. New episodes are in the pipeline as I type this and I think I am going to binge record a bunch of episodes and see if I can get traction on it again.
